Public Safety is getting ready to go live with their new routing system. Darby Weston has been coming by and giving certain examples that have been problems with routing. Local roads are currently calculated as 20 mph, private roads are 15 mph. Even though these speeds seems low the routing software will select them over a collector causing a rout not to be the most effective or fastest time. We are going to be doing some testing on streets to see if the speed makes a difference for the local roads. We would like to test different speeds for streetclass of local and private to see if that will make a difference. If the speed change does help for routing, then we are asking change management for a reduction is speed of local to 15mph and private to 10mph. Please call if you have any questions.
